Member_139881Mary Olive “Mo” Fisher, 88, of Emlenton, was called home by Jesus on Saturday morning, November 1, 2014 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Born December 2, 1925 in Nickleville, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Nellie Kline Best of Nickleville.

She graduated from Emlenton High School in 1943. She worked at Oil Well Supply, Sportspal Canoes, and Harry’s Market in Emlenton. She was a homemaker and retired from the Emlenton IGA after more than 20 years of service.

Mrs. Fisher was a member of the Emlenton United Methodist Church and the Richland Grange. She also volunteered at the FISH Food Cupboard in Emlenton for many years.

Mrs. Fisher was best known for her homemade rolls and her apple crumb pie. She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She was always sharing the produce from her garden with neighbors and friends.

She was married at the Emlenton United Methodist Church October 5, 1946 to E. Jack Fisher. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1999.

Surviving are three children, Eric E. Fisher and his wife, Elaine, of St. Petersburg, Judith A. Karns and her husband, Kenneth, of Kennerdell, and Gary G. Fisher of Emlenton; eight grandchildren, Cheryl Sandusky and her husband, Jack, of Gardiner, MT, Kelly Fisher of Shippenville, Greg G. Fisher and his wife, Brandi, of Parker, GySgt. Ret. Steven N. Karns and his wife, Heidi, of Mandeville, LA; Scott N. Karns and his wife, Carrie, of Oil City, Christa M. Hartle and her husband, Greg, of Oil City, Joshua J. Fisher and his wife, Jackie, of Parker, and Adrienne Fallecker and her husband, Greg, of San Angelo, TX; thirteen great grandchildren who call her “Big Ma”; a brother, Gene Best and his wife, Donna of Nickleville, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph O. Best and a daughter-in-law, Janice Helsel Fisher.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Monday.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday from the funeral home with the Rev. Kent O’Neil, pastor at Emlenton United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Emlenton Cemetery.
