Patricia M. Hunter

077747bcbca88f6cPatricia M. Hunter, 86, of Guys Mills, died Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She had resided in Guys Mills for 59 years.
She was born December 15, 1927 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Archibald and Catherine Lynch Devlin. She was raised in Philadelphia and married her husband Ralph L. Hunter there on August 25, 1951. He preceded her in death April 25, 2011.

Patricia was a 1945 graduate of the John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School in Philadelphia. She was a homemaker and had worked as a receptionist and office assistant for Dr. Paul T. Poux in Guys Mills. She was also part owner and secretary of R. Hunter, Inc., working with her husband and son, Ralph E. Hunter, for many years.

Patricia was a faithful member of St. Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church and she had a strong love of animals as witnessed by her care for many stray cats over the years.
Survivors include four daughters, Kathleen M. Rinn and her husband William A. of Aynor, SC, Col. Patricia A.H. Saulsbery (Ret.) and her husband Lt. Col. Thomas B. of Reston, VA, Maureen A.H. Hager and her husband William R. of Franklin, and Florence M. Hunter of Leesburg, VA; a son, Ralph E. Hunter and his wife Susan E. of Guys Mills; fourteen grandchildren, Kathleen A. Humphrey and her husband Justin, Heather A. Rinn, Sarah A. Rinn, Alison P. Graziano and her husband Ryan, Nathan W. Hager, Hillary H. Carter and her husband Matthew, Nicholas H. Hager, Natalie A. Hager, Stephanie H. Umstead, Zachery P. Hunter, Emily P. Hunter, Thomas R. Hunter, Maggie M. Hunter, and Elizabeth S. Hunter; two great-grandchildren, Connor W. Humphrey and Victoria A. Carter; a sister-in-law, Mary Devlin of Upper Darby; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Catherine Eilisfeld, Florence M. Devlin, and Julia Howard and three brothers, Archibald B., Thomas, and Joseph Devlin.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with a Scripture Prayer service at 4:45 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Hippolyte Church, 25997 State Hwy 27, Guys Mills with Fr. Daniel J. Prez as Celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Hippolyte Cemetery.

In keeping with Patricia’s love and care of animals as well as Catholic education, memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Rd., Meadville, PA 16335 or to local Catholic education of the donor’s choice.
