Mr. Frank P. McCalmont, 72, of 922 E. Main St., Titusville passed away at 12:10 AM on Friday, November 07, 2014, at the Titusville Area Hospital.
Mr. McCalmont was born on June 6, 1942, in Oil City to the late Weldon and Olive Carson McCalmont. He married Helen Henton Wright on October 9, 1987, in Reno.
Frank was a graduate of Oil City High School.
He was a veteran of the US Army. Frank entered the service on Sept. 26, 1962, at Franklin, PA and was honorably discharged on Sept. 25, 1964, at Ft. Hood, TX with the rank of SP4.
Mr. McCalmont was employed in the Cold Roll Department for 45 years with Cyclops Specialty Steel, Cytemp Steel, and Universal Stainless until the time of his retirement in 2008.
He was a lifetime member of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW and a member of the Cleo J. Ross Post 368 American Legion.
Frank enjoyed reading, working in his vegetable garden, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Helen of Titusville; three children, Frank McCalmont and Roberta of Oil City, Melanie Dillion and husband Jason of Oil City, Major William McCalmont and wife Tiffany stationed with the US Army in Dover, DE; eight step-children, Dennis H. Wright and wife Debbie of Milwaukee, WI, Jay Chappel of Union City, Maxine Brandon of Pleasantville, Rodney Chappel of Chapmanville, Roberta Clark of Cleveland, OH, Peter Wright of Clarion, Tracy Fultz and husband Paul of Pullman, WA, Ida Fuchs and husband Rick of Titusville; two great grandchildren who were raised by Frank and Helen, Brandon Barger of Titusville, Kayla Evans of Wellington, OH; two brother, Leland McCalmont and wife Mary of Harrisville, Gary McCalmont of Bisbee, AZ; a sister, Lorna Sturgeon of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. McCalmont was preceded in death by a son, David McCalmont.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Monday from 4 to 5 PM with a memorial service to follow conducted by Rev. William Hopkins, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene in Oil City, officiating.
