TIONESTA TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Marienville-based State Police say around 3:10 p.m. on November 7, a one-car accident occurred on State Route 36, 3478 feet north of State Route 62, in Tionesta Township, Forest County.

According to police, 18-year-old Kristin A. McCarthy, of Pittsburgh, was traveling south along SR 36 and lost control of her 2005 Honda Civic while negotiating a right hand curve in the roadway.

McCarthy was unable to regain control on the car, and it crossed the northbound lane of travel, impacting an embankment on the east side of the roadway, police say.

The car then spun in a counterclockwise manner against the embankment and overturned two times. The car came to a final rest along the east side of the road within a ditch facing west, according to police.

McCarthy and a passenger, 18-year-old Madison M. Stern, of Pittsburgh, were using seat belts and were not injured.

The car sustained disabling damage as a result of the collision and was towed from the scene by Frank’s.

McCarthy was charged with a traffic violation.
