OI1274144098_weaveredEdward James Weaver Jr. , 79, of Clarkston, MI and formerly of Oil City, PA. died at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday Nov. 5, 2014 at Hurley Medical Center in Flint Michigan as a result of an accidental auto fire.

Born July 13, 1935 in Oil City, PA., he was the son of the late Edward J. Weaver Sr. & Mary G. Linehan Weaver.

Edward was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in Oil City.

Mr. Weaver was a veteran of the United States Army, serving as a Private First Class during the Korean War.
He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Ribbon.
He had worked for S.S. Kresge Co. for many years as the retail and merchandising buyer and as a .
manager.

He later owned and operated several variety stores, and had worked as an independent contractor in the automobile industry.

He was of the Catholic Faith and a member of St. Joseph’s Church, while living in Oil City.

He is survived by two sisters, Mary M. Camp of Tonawanda, NY and Arvilla J. Weaver of Tonawanda, NY; a niece Carole Jean Camp Barnard of N. Tonawanda, NY; three nephews, Bruce E. Camp of Attica, NY, Lynn W. Camp Jr. Attica, NY, and Christopher Camp of Attica, NY.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday in the Reinsel Funeral home from 10:30 A.M until 12:30 PM.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1PM Tuesday in St. Joseph’s church. Interment with Full Military Honors accorded by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Church or to the charity of ones choice.
