DSC_0218TIONESTA, Pa. — In June, West Forest Jr-Sr High School hosted a career camp, sponsored by Venango Training and Development Center, with zombies as the main theme.

Students were required to create a survival plan within the circumstances of a zombie apocalypse.

The students split up into groups to discuss priorities for survival and why they were important. In order for any student to receive their supplies they had to participate and win in an activity.

Activities included relay races, cornhole, kickball, and other creative activities.

At the end of the week, students presented their ideas, supplies, shelter, and jobs that they found necessary in the survival of a zombie apocalypse.

The students saw guest speakers throughout the week including the owners of the Edible Earth Farm and a survival guy to aid in the process of deciding. Students also received lessons on how the talks related to everyday life as well as in a zombie apocalypse.Throughout the week the students received WIA Bucks which were earned for completing, winning, and participating in certain events, as well as helping out.

At the end of the week, students used their WIA bucks to get prizes such as cash prizes, gift cards, and other miscellaneous gift items.

The overall outcome was a success, and many students look forward to it next summer.
