Ethel GourleyEthel A. Gourley, 83, of Shippenville, died on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at her home.

Born on July 18, 1931 in Kittanning; she was the daughter of Robert and Avis Poland Groves.

She was married on August 19, 1950 to Wayne Gourley, who preceded her in death on March 24, 1991.

Ethel worked in the Dietary Department at Beverly Healthcare.

She was of the Baptist faith and attended the Limestone Baptist Church.

Ethel was a lifetime member of Moose Lodge 101 of Clarion. She enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ethel also enjoyed crocheting, bowling, and making wedding cakes.

She loved her family and cherished spending time with them.

She is survived by her three daughters, Sylvia Hilderbrant of New Port Richey, FL, Lois Delucia of Shippenville, and Diana Hogue and her husband, Jeff, of Shippenville; and two sons, Steve Gourley and his wife, Cecilia, of Clarion, and Vern Gourley and his wife, Denia, of Clarion; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Also surviving is a brother, Larry Johns of Franklin; and three sisters, Joan Brown and her husband, George, of Transfer, Connie Graham and her husband, Rick, of Franklin, and Jeanette Cornman and her husband, Johnny, of Kittanning; two sisters-in-law, Jean Gourley of Sligo and Sally Gourley of New Bethlehem; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Randy Over; two great grandchildren; four brothers, Robert, William, Joseph, and Harry; a sister, Mary; and two infant brothers.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2014, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, in the funeral home with Rev. John C. Phillips, pastor of the First Church of God in New Bethlehem, officiating.

Interment will be held in the Leatherwood Cemetery in New Bethlehem.
