Member_140259Annabelle Mock, 96, of Clarion, died on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at her home.

Born on April 23, 1918 in Yatesboro; she was the daughter of Albert James and Ida Donahue Schrecengost.

Annabelle was married on February 14, 1941 to Cleon E. Mock. He preceded her in death on November 25, 1973.

In earlier years, she worked at G.C. Murphy’s, Rankin Family Store, and for Attorney Rudy Whitmer.

She was a homemaker who was known for the many quilts she distributed to family and friends. A skilled seamstress, she enjoyed sewing clothes for her children and grandchildren when they were young. Annabelle also enjoyed gardening and baking. At age 96, she still enjoyed going to lunch at Eat N’ Park.

Annabelle was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion.

She is survived by three children, Connie Chapman and husband, John Smith, of Knox, Cleon E. Mock, Jr. “Ed” and his wife, Judy, of Shippenville, and Don Mock of Clarion; a former son-in-law, Monty Chapman of Jacksonville Beach, FL; six grandchildren, Monty Chapman and his wife, Shelly, of Knox, Brigitte Chapman Kimes and her husband, Tony, of Jacksonville, FL, Matthew Mock and his wife, Sherry, of State College, Jason Mock and his wife, Mandy, of Portland, OR, Shannon Flatt of Zelienople, and Holly Whalen and her husband, Chad, of Pittsburgh; a number of great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Dora Schrecengost of Fryburg, Eileen Altman of Erie, and Lenore Lutz of Oil City; and a brother-in-law, Carl Mock and his wife, Shirley, of Clarion.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne Vogl; three sisters, Ethel Walters, Geraldine Wilshire, and Edna Hubauer; and four brothers, Harold Schrecengost, Raymond Schrecengost, Arnold Schrecengost, and Russell Schrecengost; all their spouses; and three infant sisters.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion.

At Annabelle’s request, there will be no visitation or service.

Interment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
