ELK TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say around 6:29 a.m. on November 15, a one-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 208, 279 feet west of Millerstown Road, in Elk Township, Clarion County.

According to police, 35-year-old James C. Edwards, of Shippenville, was traveling east on SR 208 when a pony entered the roadway in front of his 2010 Dodge Ram 1500.

Police say Edwards was unable to stop to avoid collision and struck the pony in the eastbound lane with the left front of his vehicle, killing the pony.

Edward was using a seat belt and was not injured.

The owner of the pony was on the scene, according to police.
