mietus 001Loretta J. Mietus, 86, of 53 Venango St. Franklin, PA. died at 4:20 A.M. Monday Nov. 17, 2014 at Sugarcreek Station after a period of declining health.

Born Oct. 7, 1928 in Petroleum Center, she was the daughter of the late Victor & Pheobe June Shaw Proper.

She attended schools in Plumer and Petroleum Center.

A homemaker, she enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with family.

She was married to Andrew Julius Mietus on Jan. 20, 1948 and he preceded her in death on May 20, 1982.

She is survived by five children; Michael Mietus, of Rouseville; Robert Mietus & his wife Virginia, of Cranberry; David (Dude) Mietus & his girlfriend Georgia, of Grand Valley; Kandy Gaylor & her husband Dan, of Curwensville; Floyd (Blue) Mietus & his wife Jacy, of Oil City. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Amber Mietus, of Franklin; Kama Mietus, of Franklin, with whom Loretta made her home with for the past five years; Emberly Mietus, of Grand Valley; Adrian Mietus, of Oil City; Taylor Mietus, of Oil City; Molly Mietus, of Oil City; Andrew Mietus, of Oil City; three great-grandchildren; Cruz Mietus & his wife Alyson; Issac Senious; and Kyesha Mietus; one great great grandchild; Aven Mietus; one sister Dorea Kope, of Meadville, and by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sons; Ronald Mietus and Alfred Mietus; six brothers Warren, Floyd, Harry Larry, Herbert and Willis Proper; and three sisters Reba Moon, Norma Burt and Zanah Frankenberger.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday at 6 P.M. in the Reinsel Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Bell, Presiding.

Interment will take place in Cherrytree Cemetery.
