SNYDER-CARBONruthRuth L. Snyder-Carbon, 89, of Franklin died peacefully at 5:45 PM Sunday, November 16, 2014 in The Caring Place of Franklin with her loving family by her side; following a period of declining health.

She was born August 1, 1925 in Gulfport, MS a beloved daughter of the late: John and Lillian Welford Burdine.

Ruth had worked for a number of years as a secretary at the former Amalie Oil Refinery offices in Franklin. She also was a saleslady at the former Keeley Piano & Organ of Cranberry Township.

She was an active and faithful member of Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin.

She was married on March 28, 1942 to Glenn J. Snyder, Sr.. He preceded her in death in April of 1987. She then married Alex Carbon in 1990; and he preceded her in death in 1993.

Ruth was an accomplished seamstress; and was known by her family and friends as a phenomenal cook. She enjoyed music and was proficient on the electronic keyboard. As her health permitted, she looked forward to attending Franklin Silver Cornet Band Concerts in the park and absolutely loved Applefest.

She is survived by a daughter: Wendy A. Bell and her husband Barry of Franklin and by her son: Craig S. “Stormy” Snyder and his wife Yvonne of Canandaigua, NY. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Adam and Eve Snyder, Scott Bell, Bridget May, Ryan Bell, Allison Bell, Shane Bell and Trent Snyder; in addition to 11 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is her brother: Wesley D. Burdine of Louisana; in addition to many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

In addition to her husbands and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Glenn J. Snyder, Jr.; by her brother: Charles Burdine and by her sister: Evelyn Fowler.

In accordance of her wishes, there will be no public visitation.

Private funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of her family.
