In late October 2013, a Venango County court ordered Marc Taylor, 40, of Knox, to stand trial for the alleged rape and sexual assaults of parolees in 2009 and 2010 at several locations within the city of Oil City and Venango County.
After an eight-month long investigation into the case, on September 3, 2013, Clarion-based State Police upon the request of the Oil City Police Department arrested Taylor for rape and related sexual offenses.
The charges stemmed from incidents that were alleged to have occured while Taylor was employed as a Venango County Probation Officer from 2009 to 2012.
Taylor was found not guilty on all counts Tuesday in the Venango County Court of Common Pleas.
He faced a total of sixteen charges, including felony counts of Rape, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Aggravated Indecent Assault, Institutional Sexual Assault, Criminal Conspiracy, and Bribery.
Taylor was represented by Blair H. Hindman of Brookville.
Laura Ann Ditka of the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office was the prosecuting attorney.
Visiting Senior Judge David E. Grine. of Centre County presided over the case.
