Mayport Man Charged with Assault, Terroristic Threats After Allegedly Choking, Striking Woman in Face

RINGGOLD TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Punxsutawney-based State Police say an assault occurred on Nolf Road, in Ringgold Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, 68-year-old Benjamin James Bish, of Mayport, allegedly choked a 64-year-old woman, also of Mayport, and then threw her onto the floor.

Then, Bish allegedly struck the female victim in the face multiple times, police say.

Bish also allegedly threatened to kill the victim on two separate occasions, according to police.

The incidents occurred sometime between November 10 and November 16, 2014.

The following charges were filed against Bish at District Court 54-3-01 on November 16:

-Simple Assault
-Two counts of Terroristic Threats
-Harassment
