Police Investigating Unlawful Sale of Pistol in Jenks Township

JENKS TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Marienville-based State Police say a Firearms Act Violations occurred in Jenks Township, Forest County.

According to police, on November 16, a PSP trooper received information from a Facebook post regarding an unregistered handgun listed for sale by an unlawful possessor. The listed SAR Arms, 9mm pistol was identified in the post as being unregistered.

During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the possessor purchased the firearm for $250.00 from another unlicensed person, police say.

The handgun was relinquished by the unlawful possessor into the custody of the PSP Marienville Station for further disposition.

The investigation continues.

The names of the individuals involved were not released.
