UPDATE: Icy Conditions, Accidents Wreak Havoc on Area Roadways

CLARION COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – Icy road conditions caused multiple accidents throughout the area Saturday, including a rollover crash with two critical patients in Redbank Township.

Clarion County Office of Emergency Services received numerous reports of accidents and disabled vehicles throughout the area beginning around 11 a.m.:

– Route 66 in Farmington Twp. — Vehicle accident w/ entrapment on Route 66 near Ridge Lane. Two patients extricated. Route 66 was closed just north of the roadway’s intersection with Route 36, but has since reopened. (3:17 p.m.)
– Route 66 in Paint Twp. — Rollover accident near PennDot shed (1:02 p.m.)
– Route 28 in Redbank Twp. — Rollover accident w/ ejection. Two critical patients. STAT MedEvac unable to respond due to weather conditions. Patients transported to Brookville Hospital. (11:25 a.m.)
– I-80 MM 74 EB in Jefferson County — One-vehicle accident (11:21 a.m.)
– Route 28 in New Bethlehem — One-vehicle accident near Eric’s Auto (11:39 a.m.)
– Route 66/36 in Farmington Twp. — Vehicle accident/unknown injuries (11:14 a.m.)
– Bus Mong Road in Knox — Head-on collision (11:10 a.m.)
– I-80 MM 49 Westbound — Tractor trailer rollover (11: 08 a.m.)
– I-80 MM 62 Westbound — One-vehicle accident w/ injuries (11:04 a.m.)
– Route 38 near Emlenton Truck Stop — Tractor Trailer accident (time unknown)

Interstate 80 Westbound was closed between Exit 53 and Exit 45 as crews removed wreckage from a previous accident. The roadway has since reopened.
