Benjamin Zane Means was born February 11, 1924, in Valier, a son of the late Lynn Luther and Mona Marie (Gabrielson) Means.
Mr. Means served in the United States Air Force as an Aerial Gunner on a B-24 during World War II. During his time in the Air Force, Means flew more than 30 missions over France and Germany.
For his service to his country, he earned the Aviation Badge Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Distinguished Flying Cross, three Bronze Campaign Stars, European African Middle Eastern Theatre ribbon, and the Good Conduct ribbon.
