FARMINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Marienville-based State Police say around 3:07 p.m. on November 22, a suspected DUI crash occurred on State Route 66, just south of Arnold Drive, in Farmington Township, Clarion County.

Police say Andrew Smith, of Butler, and William Reiss, of Pittsburgh, were involved in the collision.

According to police, a 2010 Ford F-350, driven by Smith, was traveling north on SR 66, and a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by Reiss, was traveling south.

Police say Smith lost control of his Ford and traveled off the right side of the roadway. Once off the road, the Ford traveled back onto the roadway and across the northbound lane and into the southbound lane and impacted Reiss’ Dodge with its front end.

The Dodge was impacted on its front driver’s side.

Both vehicles came to rest on the southbound berm.

Both drivers and two passengers in Smith’s vehicle — Mark Mactagart and Steven Kirk, both of Butler — had to be removed from the vehicles by Fire and EMS.

Smith suffered minor injuries, while his passengers, Mactagart and Kirk, suffered major injuries; Reiss also suffered major injuries.

Both vehicles sustained major damages.

Smith was arrested for suspicion of DUI.

The crash scene was reconstructed by PSP.

Farmington Twp. Volunteer Fire Department, Washington Twp. Volunteer Fire Department, Marienville Volunteer Fire Department, Shippenville Ambulance, Clarion Hospital EMS, Knox Ambulance, and PennDOT assisted at the scene.

The crash caused the roadway to be shut down for several hours.
