Member_140608Betty Jo Hepler, 66, of Riverside Drive, Oil City, died at 3:05 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014 peacefully at her residence surrounded by family.

She was born June 26, 1948 in Oil City to the late Charles and Orpha (Kelso) Minich.

She was a 1966 graduate of Cranberry High School. She then went on to earn a degree as a dental hygienist.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star-Morris Chapter of Oil City, where she served as a past Worthy Matron. She was also an active member of the Rainbow Girls and the White Shrine. She also served as an advisor to the Cranberry High School Prom for several years.

Mrs. Hepler was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Betty Jo enjoyed shopping, her card-club, craft projects and doing puzzles, and attending local auctions where she made many friends. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Mrs. Hepler was an officer at Minich’s Mobile Homes, Inc. on Riverside Drive, Oil City for forty-one years, where she was active in overseeing daily operations and finances.

She was married in Grace United Methodist Church, Oil City, on August 6, 1966 to Rick Hepler, and he survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Jody Hepler and his wife Beth of Northfield, Minnesota, and Chris Hepler and his wife Kerry of Oil City; four grandchildren, Tyler and Kayla Hepler of Minnesota, and Jerica and Taylor Hepler of Oil City; and a ‘special sister,’ Pat Russo and husband Ed of Florida.

She is also survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jim and Carrie Hepler, DeAnna and John Mahle, Dennis and Dottie Hepler, and Ethel Minich; a special family member, Carol Shreffler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Minich; a sister-in-law, Joanne Minich; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wallace and Dora Hepler.

Friends will be received Tuesday (Nov. 25) from 6-9 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday (Nov. 26) at 11 a.m. in Grace United Methodist Church, 100 Central Ave. in Oil City, with the Rev. Byron Myers, church pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in Heckathorn Cemetery in Seneca.
