Clarion University Men’s Swimming Loses at Bloomsburg, 143-99

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — Clarion’s Ben Spencer and James Robichaud posted individual wins, but Bloomsburg had a strong day in the pool to defeat the Golden Eagles men’s swimming and diving team 143-99 on Saturday. Diving was not included.

Ben Spencer had a strong performance in the pool, winning the 200 backstroke (2:00.68), plus took seconds in the 100 back (55.41) and the 400 IM (4:33.69). Robichaud meanwhile won the 400 IM with a time of 4:28.61, plus was second in the 100 free (49.71).

Chris Steele also won the 100 butterfly (57.26), while Shayne Custodio was second in the 500 (5:16.42) and Luke Simpson was second in the 100 fly (57.38).

The Golden Eagles are now 1-2 in dual meets this season and will swim again at the Zippy Invitational on Dec. 5-7 in an event hosted at Akron University.
