Clarion University Women’s Swimmers Lose at Bloomsburg, 146-115

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. — Clarion’s Gabriella Schaffer was a double winner on Saturday but it wasn’t enough as the Golden Eagles women’s swimming and diving team lost a 146 – 115 dual meet at Bloomsburg. Diving was not included.

Schaffer won both her specialties, taking the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.56 and the 200 back with a 2:09.21 clocking.

Emilee Gysegem, Emily Ondrizek, and Anna McNurlen also won individual events. Gysegem won the 400 IM with a time of 4:38.59, plus took second in the 200 breaststroke (2:27.55). Ondrizek won the 50 free (25.16) and McNurlen captured the 100 free (54.90) and was second in the 200 free (2:00.93).

Clarion is now 1-2 in dual meets this season and will swim again at the Zippy Invitational, hosted at Akron University December 5-7.
