Donald J. Porath

Member_140607Donald J. Porath, 42, of Cranberry, died unexpectedly of natural causes Sunday morning, November 23, 2014 at his residence.

He was born July 17, 1972 in Oil City to Sandra L. (Watson) Hanna and the late John H. Hanna.

Don graduated in 1991 from Santa Rita High School in Tucson, Arizona.

He was of the protestant faith.

Mr. Porath was employed most recently at Gardenscape in Emlenton, until his health no longer permitted him to continue working.

Don was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed four-wheeling, watching the Steelers, and spending time with his family. He had a great sense of humor; and will be remembered as a loving and caring father.

Surviving are his mother, Sandra L. Hanna of Oil City; his fiancé, Janet L. Bryan of Cranberry; and his daughter, Mary Bryan of Cranberry. Also surviving are four sisters, Kimberly Worcester and her husband Tom of Arizona, Susan Follini and her husband Rob of Idaho, Mishelle Fletcher of Florida, and Tina Lee Bickel of Virginia. Numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles also survive, including his niece Angel Kase, two nephews, Chad Fletcher and Josh Bickel; and his great-niece, Ally Fletcher. His biological father, William Porath of Oil City also survives.

He was preceded in death by his father, John H. Hanna; and his brother, Bill Porath.

There will be no visitation.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Don’s life on Saturday (Nov. 29th) at 2 p.m. at the Salvation Army building, 217 Sycamore St. in Oil City.

The Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc. in Seneca, Cranberry Township is completing funeral arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
