Member_140551Kathryn A. Donahey, 78, of Seneca, died at 2:10 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born April 30, 1936 in Reno to the late Matthew R. and Mildred M. (Connelly) Rossiter.

She was a 1953 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Oil City. She then became an accredited record technician, graduating from the American Medical Record Association School of Medical Technology. She was employed by the Oil City Hospital School of Nursing and the Oil City Hospital Northwest campus for thirty years, retiring as the director of medical records in 1991.

Mrs. Donahey was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Clarion. She was also a member of the ‘Young at Hearts’ group at the Cranberry Mall.

Her biggest joys in life were her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and the good times that she spent with them. She also enjoyed golfing, walking, exercising, and watching her grandchildren’s sporting events.

She was married in Oil City on October 16, 1954 to Forest E. Donahey, and he survives.

Also surviving are three children, Christine Cross and her husband Calvin of Rockland, Kevin Donahey and his wife Carol of Cranberry, and Keith Donahey and his wife Lisa of Hampton Station; her grandchildren: Brooke Cross, Stefanie Knight and husband Dustin, Karah Douglass, Emily Nixon and husband Luke, Rilee Donahey, and Jacob and Alexis Armstrong; and seven great-grandchildren: Baylee and Alivia Douglass, Grant Snyder, Ashlyn and Brooklyn Alderette, Sidney Knight, and Landon Nixon.

She also survived by her sister, Mary Weaver and her husband Dale of Rocky Grove, and a brother, Robert Rossiter and his wife Susan of Dallas, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Richard Rossiter.

Friends will be received Tuesday (Nov. 25th) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday (Nov. 26th) at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harold Jacobson, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in Rockland Cemetery, Kennerdell.
