kathleen-kiley_2427_aaaKatie Kiley, 36, of Hershey, PA, formerly of Milford, PA, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Hershey Medical Center with her family by her side after a long walk in the “storm of cancer.”

Katie was born on September 6, 1978 to Thomas J. Kiley and Patricia L. (Howard) Kiley in Syracuse, New York. She was a graduate of Delaware Valley High School, Milford, Pennsylvania and Penn State University, with a degree in Public Relations. She was a member of honor fraternity Phi Sigma Pi. Prior to her illness she worked as an account executive with Thomas J. Paul, Inc. of Philadelphia.

She is survived by the love of her life, Dr. Jacob Gardner, MD, PhD. She is also survived by her loving family, parents: Thomas and Patricia Kiley of Milford; her sister: Jennifer Kiley Kolvenbach; nephew: Connor Kolvenbach; grandmother: Beatrice (Blount) Howard; in-laws David and Louise Gardner, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dan and Lisa Gardner and nephew, Evan Gardner. She is also survived by uncles and aunts as follows: Robert Kiley (Eleanor), Nancy Kiley Berg, Shirley (Howard) Pincus (Steven) and Stephen Howard. Her many cousins which were like brothers and sisters also survive their loving cousin, Katie. She was predeceased by her grandparents: Thomas and Jesse Kiley and Frank Howard and Aunt Jeanette (Howard) Koelbl and Uncle Richard Howard.

Katie was truly a kind, compassionate, loving person beautiful inside and out. Her radiant, contagious smile could light up any room she was in. She enjoyed the outdoors, fashion, writing and travel. Most of all she loved every friend and family member always interacting and truly believing they were the most special person in the world. Most of all she loved her husband and soul mate, Jake, with all her heart. “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” —Winnie the Pooh.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday November 18, 2014, from 7-9 p.m. at Stroyan Funeral Home at 405 West Harford Street, Milford, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, 111 E High Street, Milford, PA at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Burial will follow at the Milford Cemetery, Dingman Twp, PA.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hope For Healing Fund, Penn State Hershey Medical Center, 90 Hope Drive, Hershey, PA 17033. Checks should be payable to PSU in memory of Kathleen Kiley.
