BEAVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Clarion-based State Police, a two-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80, at mile marker 50.1, in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

Police say 44-year-old Charles A. Reed, of Oakland, CA, and 52-year-old Paulette D. Netterfield, of Kitchener, ON, were involved in the collision.

Police say a 2003 Freightliner Century Class, driven by Reed, and a 2012 BMW 335IS, driven by Netterfield, were traveling west on I-80, and ice on the road caused hazardous conditions on the roadway.

The Freightliner jackknifed as Reed attempted to stop for traffic in front of him. The vehicle slid westbound and impacted the BMW from behind.

Reed and two passengers — 25-year-old Cynthia J. Chesebro, of Stockton, CA, and a one year-old female, also of Stockton, CA — were using seat belts and were not injured.

Netterfield and a passenger, 52-year-old Kevin R. Netterfield, of Kitchner, ON, were using seat belts and were not injured.
