23-year-old Woman Injured in I-80 Crash

ALLEGHENY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Clarion-based State Police say a 23-year-old woman was injured Saturday morning in a one-vehicle crash in Allegheny Township, Butler County.

According to police, the accident happened around 6:24 a.m. when an eastbound vehicle operated by 23-year-old Chelsea E. Newman, of Wyoming, Michigan, exited Interstate 80 near mile marker 44 for unknown reasons.

Police say Newman’s 2000 Dodge Ram rolled onto its roof after exiting the roadway.

Newman suffered minor injuries in the crash.

A passenger in her vehicle, 35-year-old Timothy J. Vanderlaan, of Gwinn, Michigan, escaped injury.

Both Newman and Vanderlaan were wearing safety belts.

Newman was cited with a lane violation.

Emlenton Ambulance assisted at the scene.
