Carl W. Shumaker, age 79, of New Bethlehem, died Thursday, November 27, 2014 at Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sligo.

Born September 2, 1935 in Tidal, Armstrong County, he was the son of the late Carl O. and Mary L. Wadding Shumaker.

He was self employed in the trucking business hauling coal.

Carl is survived by a son, Alan Shumaker of New Bethlehem; a longtime special friend and caregiver, Lois Sherry, of New Bethlehem; five grandchildren: Keith, Kayla, Preslea, Preston and Wyat.

He is also survived by a great grandchild, Braelyn Lockett and a sister, Beverly Dworek of New Jersey.

At Carl’s request, there will be no calling hours.

Interment will take place in the Oakland Cemetery in Distant, Armstrong County.
