PORTER TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A 22-year-old woman was injured in a Tuesday afternoon truck accident that shut down State Route 861 for over four hours.

Clarion-based State Police say the accident happened around 2:13 p.m. when Adrienne B. King, 22, of Harrisville, fell asleep while traveling east on State Route 861 near Squirrel Hill Road.

King’s 2006 International Harvester traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck the guide rails along the south berm.

She then attempted to steer the vehicle back onto the roadway, causing it to travel across both lanes of SR-861 and strike the guide rails along the north berm.

The vehicle then rolled over an embankment and crashed into a tree, entrapping King in the vehicle.

King was extricated from the truck and transported to Clarion Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

According to Clarion County OES, a small hazardous materials spill was cleared by crews following the accident.

Clarion Hospital EMS, New Bethlehem VFD, Hawthorn VFD, and Rimersburg VFD assisted at the scene.
