Mary K. Jarosz, 94, formerly of 621 Bissell Ave. died at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday Dec. 3 at the Golden Living Center in Oil City after an extended illness.

Born Oct. 11, 1920 in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of James & Frances Conti Como.

She as a 1938 graduate of Oil City High School.

Mary was married on July 20, 1941 in St. Stephen’s Church to William A. Jarosz and he preceded her in death on Oct, 22, 1985.

Mary had been the manager of the lunch counter at Woolworth’s for over twenty years.

She enjoyed spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren, playing cards and traveling with her travel companion Rosetta Miller. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with them at the beach. Mary also enjoyed watching TV gameshows, playing bingo, going to casinos to play slot machines and last but not least cheering her Pittsburgh Steelers on to victory.

She was a member of the Italian Lodge of the Sons of Italy, the Pulaski, PNA, Golden Agers and PrimeTimers, she also was a member of the VFW Auxilliary, and YWCA Gallivanters.

Mary was a member of St. Joseph Church.

She is survived by three children, William Jarosz & his wife Donna of Dumfries, VA, Judy Klinko & her husband John of Oil City, Debbie Johnson & her husband Thomas of Fredericksburg, VA,
her grandchildren, Jeffrey Jarosz & his wife Julie, Joelle Neufang & her husband Joel, Todd Klinko, Kari Borland & her husband Kevin, Jacob & Sabrina Johnson and 9 Great Grandchildren.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was preceded in death by four brothers John, Mike, Carmen “Jess” and Anthony “Tony” Como and by two sisters, Josephine Lynch and Helen Bianchi.

Private visitation and Funeral Services will take place at the convenience of the family.

Entombment will be in Bishop McManaman Memorial Mausoleum.
