Donald L. Jeffers

don jeffersDonald L. Jeffers, 84, of Sligo, died Thursday afternoon, December 4, 2014 at Butler Memorial Hospital. He was born October 7, 1930 in Baltimore, Md, the son of John J. and Leah (Bailey) Jeffers.

He married Emma M. (Fox) and she preceded him in death on February 17, 2010.

Mr. Jeffers worked in construction for the labor’s union in Kittanning, and he worked at the H.K.Porter Co, and the St. Charles Refractories, he also was a member of the Leatherwood Church.

He is survived by two sons, Donald L. Jeffers, Jr. and wife Sue of Portage; Larry D. Jeffers and wife Nancy of Templeton; ten grandchildren, Derec Jeffers and wife Angie, Shani Williams and husband Tim, Ember Gourley and husband Scott, Tiara Bramlee and husband Matt, Theresa Hill, Matt Jeffers and wife Sara, Chris Jeffers, Shane Jeffers, Nicole Chipman and Jaime Confer and husband Dave. Also surviving are three sisters; his twin Dorothy Brison of Kittaning; Janet Smith and husband Jim of East Palestine, Ohio, Nancy Smith of Polk; and one brother Ernest Smith of Templeton.

In addition to both parents, his wife Emma, and stepfather Harry Smith, he was preceded in death by a daughter Jeri L. Means, and a brother Jerald J. Jeffers.

Visitaion will be on Sunday December 7, 2014, from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor

Doug Henry officiating. Interment will be in the Kellersburg Methodist Cemetery, Madison Twp, Armstrong County.
