Dr. William J. Lynch

Lynch, William J.Dr. William J. Lynch, of Brookville, formerly of Belle Vernon, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2014.

  He was born April 28th, 1949.  He was the beloved husband of 42 years to Kathleen M. (Kraus) Lynch, father to Christine (Jason) Hoffman and Jennifer Lynch, and grandfather of Aidan, Rory, and Taryn Hoffman.  He is also survived by his mother Helen C. Lynch. He was preceded in death by his father Minor G. Lynch and brother David M. Lynch, PhD.

A graduate of  both Washington & Jefferson College, where he was a member of the Gamma Chapter of Beta Theta Pi, and Des Moines College of Osteopathic Medicine & Surgery, Dr. Lynch devoted his career and life to his patients, family and friends.

Known as “Doc” to those that surrounded him, he was a strong, compassionate and welcoming man who was also a healer to his community.   For 38 Years, he practiced medicine at Family Practice Associates. He was very proud to have served five years as Director of Emergency Services at Brookville Hospital and 32 years as Co-director at the PA Memorial Home and McKinley Health Center.

An Eagle Scout, avid outdoor enthusiast and life-long learner, Bill enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing, gardening and gourmet cooking for his family and friends. He looked most forward to time spent duck hunting with the guys at the Bayshore Club in Bayport, Michigan.

Arrangements will be handled by McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville. Visitation Monday December 8, 2014 from 2-9 p.m. at the funeral home.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Tuesday December 9, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Brookville.
