OI1065253786_stillerellenEllen E. (Sis) Stiller, 79, of 306 Hiland Ave., Oil City went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 1:09 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014 at Magee Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh after several months of a courageous fight to recover from surgery.

Born June 23, 1935, in Oil City, she was one of five daughters of the late Ivan and Margaret (Hagan) Hopper.

Sis, as she preferred to be called, was married to her devoted and loving husband, John R. Stiller, on January 25, 1960. John lovingly cared for and stayed by her side throughout her last several months of illness.

Sis attended Cranberry and Oil City schools, graduating in 1954. She worked at Foster Forbes Glass Plant in Oil City but spent most of her adult life as a devoted mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Cornerstone Bible Church in Oil City, PA.

Sis was a warm, tenderhearted, sweet woman. She would most want to be remembered as someone who loved and adored her Lord and remained steadfast in her devotion and faith in him throughout her life’s trials and triumphs.

Sis had a passion for singing and loved music. She learned to sing beautiful three part harmony with her sisters, Connie and Joan, and for many years performed with them in churches and for family. Her greatest joy was to sing songs of hymns and praise, in church, in her beautiful high soprano voice. Sis looked forward to this day when for her reward, her voice would return, and she would join heavenly choirs.

Sis loved spending time with family and her five sisters who were always her closest and best friends. She was like a second mother to her sisters’ children and cared about them like they were her own. She also loved flowers, especially Morning Glories, she grew with help around her home. She loved all animals and in her later years took in her first cat, a stray, she called Baby.

In addition to her husband, She is survived by a daughter Julie and her husband Clair Hepler , their children and her grandchildren Andrew and Amy Hepler, and a son, John and his wife Kammi of Oil City.
