CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — Members of the Clarion Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol will be hosting Clarion County’s first annual Wreaths Across America ceremony this coming Saturday, December 13th, at the Clarion County Veterans Memorial Park located across from the Clarion County Court House.

The ceremony will begin sharply at 12:00 noon, and will be coordinated simultaneously with over 500 other participating locations across the nation, including Arlington National Cemetery.

Seven ceremonial wreaths will be placed to REMEMBER those who served, HONOR theirWAA sacrifices, and TEACH younger generations about the high cost of our freedoms.

Specially designated wreaths for the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, and POW/MIA will be dedicated during the ceremony in which local veterans will place the wreaths in honor of those they represent. Numerous state and local officials as well as veterans groups will also be represented.

In addition to the seven ceremonial wreaths, a wreath will also be placed at each of the park’s veterans memorials, honoring those who sacrificed and gave their lives in each represented war.

It is projected that in 2014, more than 150,000 volunteers nationwide will take part in the Wreaths Across America mission to “Remember, Honor and Teach.”
