HOWE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Marienville-based State Police say a hit and run accident occurred on Route 666, 3133 feet south of Forest Road, in Howe Township, Forest County.

According to police, an unidentified vehicle was traveling east on Route 666 and a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 48-year-old John E. Smaroff, of Tiona, Pa., was traveling west.

As the two vehicles passed each other, the snow plow that was mounted on the front of the unidentified vehicle struck the driver’s side mirror of the Silverado breaking it.

The unidentified vehicle failed to stop at the scene and continued east on Route 666, police say.

The only description that was given of the unknown vehicle is having a red plow and possibly having a tool body bed.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Marienville at 814-927-5253.
