Fryburg Man Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 66

KNOX TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say around 12:43 p.m. on December 13, a two-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 66, near its intersection with Easy Drive, in Knox Township, Clarion County.

According to police, 23-year-old Michael D. Goss, of Fryburg, and 53-year-old Michael E. Bowen, of Leeper, were involved in the collision.

Police say a 2003 Ford F-150 pickup driven by Bowen was traveling in a northern direction on SR 66 when a 1997 Volkswagen Golf, driven by Goss, pulled out from a parking lot in front of the pickup causing the crash.

The Volkswagen was hit in the 9 o’clock position causing disabling damage. It spun around and came to a final rest on the opposite lane facing north.

The pickup suffered disabling damage to the 12 o’clock position. It came to a final rest to the right of the roadway.

Goss was treated for minor injuries and was transported by Clarion Co. Ambulance to Clarion Hospital for further treatment.

He was not using a seat belt.

Bowen and a 17-year-old female passenger, of Leeper, were using seat belts and were not injured.

Goss was charged with a traffic violation.

Both units were towed by Mark’s Auto.

Shippenville Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
