Martha May Kammerdeiner

Martha May Kammerdeiner, 81, of Sigel, died Monday, December 15, 2014 at Brookville Hospital.

She was born on September 24, 1933 in Sigel, a daughter of the late Albert Porter and Clara Anna (Haight) Cartright.

On July 22, 1951, she married Floyd Finley Kammerdeiner. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2009.

Martha owned and operated her own Beauty Shop for over forty two years. She enjoyed her work as a beautician, and would graciously even make house calls for those who were unable to get to her.

She had also previously worked at Sylvania/Fairbrook.

Her enjoyments were bowling, gardening, tending to her flowers, being outdoors, and taking bus trips and traveling with her best friend, Margaret Blose.

More than anything else, she loved her family and enjoyed spending the holidays with them. She
will be dearly missed this very first Christmas in heaven.

Surviving relatives include, six children, Diane Black of Youngstown, OH, Dale (Georgia) Kammerdeiner of Sigel, Kathy Corbett of Sigel, Carol (William) Green of Sigel, Steve (Becky) Kammerdeiner of Sigel, Glenna (Casey) Bodenhorn of Hazen; fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; one sister, Betty Reedy of Zepher Hills, FL.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Esther Gadley and Mary Hannold, three brothers, Harry, Glen, and Mervin Cartwright.

Friends will be received from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Brookville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Jim Fillhart.

Interment will follow at Edeburn Cemetery, Heath Twp., Jefferson County.
