OIL CITY, Pa. (EYT) — Oil City Police are continuing their search for the suspects in the stabbing that occurred on December 21, 2014, on State Street, in Oil City, Venango County.

On Saturday, December 27, Oil City Police Chief Bob Wenner told exploreVenango.com, “We’ve identified some persons of interest, and we are investigating those leads.”

“We are continuing to develop leads in the case, but we have nothing to release yet.”

Law enforcement officers are searching for two men who forced their way into an Oil City residence and stabbed two individuals.

In a previous interview with Chief Wenner, he said that around 6:30 p.m. on December 21, Oil City Police were dispatched to a State Street residence on the 200 block for a burglary. Officers arrived within a few minutes.

Wenner said the perpetrators forced their way into the State Street home occupied by a 70-year-old man and a 27-year-old man from Maryland. The 70-year-old was shoved to the floor and held down physically. The 27-year-old man was duct-taped by the suspects.

The suspects ransacked the house “apparently looking for drugs or money,” according to Wenner.

The suspects stabbed the two residents around the waist area before fleeing the scene, Wenner said.

The victims were transported to UPMC Northwest and then transported to another facility via medical helicopter.

Wenner said the perpetrators were described as two black males who were wearing masks and completely dressed in black. They are described as follows:

– The first man is described as being 6’2″ and approximately 200 pounds. He was armed with a rifle and a knife.

– The second man is 5’9″ and approximately 160 pounds. He has some facial hair, similar to a goatee. This man was armed with a pistol.

Police are also searching for the person who drove the getaway car; however, no description of that person is available.

“This was a very specific burglary. This was a targeted residence as the suspects were searching for specific items. It was not your typical burglary,” continued Wenner.

According to Wenner, no items were taken from the residence.

No other information has been released.

A reward is being offered for information on the suspects, according to Chief Wenner.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Sergeant Daly or Oil City Police Chief Bob Wenner at 814-678-3080 or Venango County Crimestoppers at 814-676-9162.
