Esther R Spangler109Esther Ruth Spangler, 73, of Summerville, PA, died Monday December 29, 2014 at Penn’s Highland Healthcare in DuBois, PA.

Born September 12, 1941 in Brookville, PA., she was the daughter of the late Richard and Hazel Sowers Neal.

Esther was a graduate of Brookville High School. She was married to Lee George Spangler on September 28, 1962 at the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church, where she is still a member.

She belonged to the Ladies Home Mission and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed sewing and scrapbooking.

Esther was a school bus driver for the Brookville Area School District for over 25 years.

Along with her husband she is survived by two sons; Chanley (Kelly) Spangler of Andover, OH., Jerry (Lori) Spangler of Summerville; two brothers, Donald (Helen) Neal of Colorado Springs, CO., Stanley (Phyllis) Neal of Waterford, PA.; a sister Evelyn (Barry) Rossey of Brookville; two grandchildren, Karli and Neil Spangler of Summerville; and four step-grandchildren, Brady Bish of Distant, Erin Truitt of Mayport, Cole Warren, and Connor Warren both of Andover, OH.

Along with her parents Esther is preceded in death by a brother, Bradley Neal and a grandchild Seth Spangler.

Her family will receive friends on Friday January 2, 2015, from 2 — 4 and 6 — 8 pm at the Furlong Funeral Home, Gregory K. Furlong FD, corner of Broad St. and First Ave., Summerville.

Friends will be received on Saturday January 3, 2015 from 10 — 11 am at the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church.

The funeral service will follow at 11 am with Rev. Roger Howard officiating.
