Jean O. Johns, age 91, of Clarion, passed away on December 30, 2014 at the Clarion Hospital.

Born in Hunters Grove, Jefferson County PA, on January 26, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Chester and Helen (Straitwell) Johns. She worked at the G.C. Murphy Store on Main Street in Clarion for 46 years before retiring.

Jean enjoyed sewing, working word search and jigsaw puzzles, volunteering with Community Action, and attending senior citizen activities and the Main Street Center in Clarion. Jean was a member of the Liberty Street Church of God in Clarion.

Jean is survived by her sister, Betty Kilduff of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two nephews; six nieces; and her long-time friend Doris Lawrence of Clarion.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her step-mother, Ruby Johns; and her sisters, Muriel Sabin and Ann Cook.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, January 2. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, January 3, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bruce Wilson, pastor of Liberty Street Church of God, officiating.

Interment will be in the Brookville Cemetery.
