Police Release Details of Box Truck-Car Collision on I-80

SCRUBGRASS TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Franklin-based State Police, a two-vehicle accident happened in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County, Pa.

Police say around 11:45 a.m. on December 29, 2014, an accident occurred on I-80 at mile marker 37.8.

According to police, 50-year-old Michael W. Rose of Ashland, OH., crossed the center dashed line in a 2004 International Harvester box truck, and collided with a 2015 Mazda CX5 operated by 43-year-old Richard M. Ohl, Jr. of Port Matilda, Pa.

Both vehicles came to rest on the berm of the roadway.

All occupants, including a 12 year-old passenger in Ohl’s vehicle, were not injured and restrained without airbag deployment.

The box truck was able to be driven from the scene; however, Ohl’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed by Hovis Towing.

Clintonville Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Rose was charged with a traffic violation.
