Marvin A. Buzard

1491740_profile_pic[1]Marvin A. Buzard, age 85 of Strattanville, Pa died 1/2/15 at home peacefully with family and friends surrounding him. The family found comfort in the belief that he now dwells with his wife Jacquelyn, “The love of his life.”

Marvin was on the original committee that established the 4th Ave Adventures. He was instrumental obtaining the mobile home a safe place for children of the community to attend after school activities. He took pride spending his time mentoring the children that attended.

He was also instrumental creating a handicap accessible entry way for the First United Methodist Church of Clarion. The church dedicated the entry in memory of his wife Jacquelyn Buzard.
Until his prior illness he was a faithful attendant of the “Wednesday Evening Service” and Sunday morning services.

He was a recipient of the Heitzerrater Evangelism Award in 1998, a great honor that is awarded to a member of the church for their faithful dedication of their service.
He was talented with his hands remodeling his home and helping others with theirs. He made clocks and many different gifts using wood as his medium.

Marvin served active duty during the Korean War.

He is survived by his daughters, Elaine and husband Douglas Daum of Tionesta, Sharlene Lutz of Tionesta and a son David Buzard and his wife Susan of Corsica. Surviving grand children, Eric Whisner and wife Toni, Cheryl Whisner, Param Pamphile, Matthew Space, Daniel Space, Crystal Space, Sara Kroh and husband Jereme Sr, Kari Smith and husband Richie, Katie Buzard and Amy Campbell, step grandson, Scott Swaim
The light of his life were his great grand children, Darin, Ariana, Christian, Cameron, Connor, Jade, Jacob, Nina, Zachery, Jereme Jr, Sydnee, Peyton and Sabastian.

He is survived by two sisters, Louise Guntrum of Brockport, NY and Emily Margaret Henry of East Brady.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jacquelyn Buzard, his parents, Winfield and Willie Mae Shaffer Buzard, a grandson D.J. Daum.

Visitation will be held on Wed. from 2-4, 7-9 at the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood St, Clarion. Funeral services will be held on Thursday from the First United Methodist Church in Clarion with Rev Arnold A. Rhodes officiating. Full military honors will be given at 11:00 AM at the church by the American Legion Post 66 of Clarion. Interment will follow in the Clarion Cemetery.

Along with the love of his wife and family, he cherished the friendships that developed over the years through his church and the community, you are loved.

In lue of flowers the family requests donation to be made in his name to the First United Methodist Church, Clarion or the Clarion Forest VNA Hospice or a charity of ones choice.
