Two Injured in Tractor Trailer Collision on I-80

BEAVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say around 9:00 a.m. on January 3, a two-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80, in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

According to police, this crash occurred when Victor Fryer, 28, of Eufaula, AL, was traveling westbound on I-80 in a 2015 Freightliner Conventional.

Fryer drove off the south berm and into the median. The front left portion of the truck struck an embankment, causing Fryer to swerve back onto the roadway.

Police say as the vehicle swerved back across the roadway and struck another 2015 Freightliner Conventional driving in the right lane. The second truck was driven by Abdullahi T. Tesso, 37, of Plymouth, MN.

The impact pushed Tesso’s truck from the right lane and onto the westbound on-ramp of Exit 53.

The truck then rolled onto its right side and came to rest on its right side in ditch along north berm.

Fryer’s vehicle came to rest along the north berm and on-ramp of Exit 53.

There was one passenger in Fryer’s vehicle: Zanobia Caldwell, 40, of Shreveport, LA.

Caldwell and Tesso both suffered moderate injuries in the crash.

They were both transported to Clarion Hospital by Clarion Ambulance.

Fryer was uninjured in the crash.

He was cited with a traffic violation for operating a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
