CLARION COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say a two vehicle accident occurred on SR-68, just east of Pennsy Road, in Monroe Township, Clarion County.

According to police, around 9:18 p.m. on January 4, 32-year-old Daniel C. Weidenhof, of East Brady, was traveling west on SR 68 when a deer jumped from the left side of the roadway.

Weidenhof’s 2004 Toyota Prius struck the deer causing functional damage to the 11 o’clock position on the vehicle.

After being hit, the deer went into the eastbound lane where Jason R. Hawk, 38, of Strattanville, then struck the deer with his 2000 Volkswagen Beetle causing disabling damage.

Weidenhof was able to drive away from the scene, while Hawk was towed by Mark’s Auto.

No injuries were reported.
