Driver Escapes Injury After Icy I-80 Crash

BEAVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say around 8:18 a.m. on January 8, a one-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80, in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

According to police, this crash occurred when Jerry W. Barger, 48, of Knox, was traveling eastbound on I-80 in a 2011 GMC Sierra.

Police say the vehicle traveled from the right lane, crossed the left lane, and impacted a concrete barrier.

The vehicle then returned to the right lane and impacted another concrete barrier.

Barger was wearing a seat belt and was not injured in this accident.

Barger’s actions were contributed to icy roadway conditions, and he was not charged with a traffic violation.

The State Police were assisted on the scene by Frye’s Towing.
