John E. Heasly

John E. Heasly, 84, passed peacefully into eternal life on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at the Hospice House. His wife Mary was with him, they had just celebrated 65 years of marriage on Monday, December 29, 2014.

John was born in Oil City, PA, the second of four sons, to Clyde and Agnes Hayes Heasley.

After graduation he served four years in the US Air Force. He worked as an insurance agent for over 30 years in Oil City and in Erie, PA. He was a member of Lakeview Country Club and always enjoyed playing golf with his son-in-law, nephews and grandsons. He and Mary moved to Charlottesville, VA, in 1994 to enjoy retirement!

Along with his wife, Mary Richards, John is survived by Deborah Rensel and her partner, Rebecca Reagle; Jacki Picard and her husband, Roger; and Mary Agnes Bunn and her husband, James. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jeb Bunn, Amber Picard and Dan Rensel. His grandson, Drew Bunn, greeted him in heaven.

Per his request, there will be no service and interment will be private. Hill and Wood Funeral Service assisted the family. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hillandwood.com. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to your favorite charity. They are grateful for the many prayers, expressions of support and love extended to them by family and friends. Mostly, they are grateful for the blessing that John (Papa) Heasley, was to them in this life and look forward to seeing him again.
