Member_142214[1]Eleanor M. Montgomery, 87, of Franklin, died at 2:05 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Caring Place in Franklin.

She was born January 11, 1927 in Franklin, a daughter of the late Arthur and Hazel (Franklin) Young.

She attended Rocky Grove High School.

While a resident of Franklin Towers, she enjoyed the opportunity to worship under the ministry of Christ United Methodist Church (Franklin) during their visits to the Towers. She also attended several of the church’s dinners. She loved the Lord with all of her heart.

Mrs. Montgomery served as a volunteer in the hospitality shop at the former Franklin Hospital.

Eleanor was a dedicated homemaker, wife, and mother. She loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are five children: Gloria Jean Wessell and her husband Alan of Wallaceville, Jacki Wenner and husband Doug of Cranberry, Joy Sweetapple of Franklin, Jim Mook and his wife Virginia of Magnolia, Ohio, and Scott Mook and wife Maria of Franklin; and two step-sons, Jerry Montgomery and wife Tammi of Cranberry and William Montgomery and wife Alice of Florida. Eleanor’s grandchildren include

Susan, Brian, David, Darren, Sheila, Brett, Autumn, Brandy, Christina, Jessey, Justyn, Jaymee, Lisa, Fred, Jamon, Jancy, and Brandon.

Also surviving are three sisters, Maxine Dunlap, Mary Winger, and Martha Walters; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, James Robinson, James Mook, and William Montgomery; a son, Joseph Mook; a daughter, Eleanor “Tootie” Robinson Kratzer; her son-in-law, Donald Sweetapple; a step-daughter, Byrdie Montgomery; a great-grandson, Keanan Andrew Lawrence; five brothers, Ernie, Arthur “Stub”, Jack, Bob, and Charles Young; and two sisters, Kate Karns and Barbara Young.

Friends will be received Tuesday (Jan. 13th) from 7-9 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. Additional visitation will be held Wednesday (Jan. 14th) from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home, where the funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Sam Wagner, associate pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery in Van, Cranberry Township.
