Robert A. Shreffler

OI135229024_shrefflerbob[1]Robert A. Shreffler, 73, of 301 Bissell Ave. Oil City died peacefully Tuesday Jan. 13, 2015 at UPMC-Presbyterian in Pittsburgh after a brief illness.

Born August 7, 1941 in Oil City, PA., he was the son of the late Charles W. Shreffler Sr. & Isabella Elder Shreffler.

Bob attended Oil City Schools.

He was married in St. Joseph’s Church on April 27, 1963 to the former Kathleen L. Condon and she survives.

Mr. Shreffler had worked at Joy Mfg., GE, St. Joseph’s Church and finished his working career at Clarion Bathware.

A member of St. Joseph Church, he was also a former member of the VFW and the PNA.

He enjoyed working on cars, carpentry projects and being a handy man.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Tricia M. Kroft & her husband Harry Kroft Jr. of Oil City, Kimberley A. Canaan & her boyfriend Jeffery McFarland of Oil City, and Crystal G. Riley & her husband J.J. of Oil City, 2 grandchildren: Brian W. Kroft & his fiance Brittney Ayers of Ohio, and Michael L. Canaan & his fiance Jessica Konieczny of Oil City, and a great grandson Dante Canaan.

He is also survived by one sister Joyce Farrell of FL, three brothers: Charles Shreffler of WY, William Shreffler of Tionesta, and Gene Shreffler & his wife Nancy of Oil City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church at the convenience of the family.

The Reinsel Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Venango County Humane Society.
