Virginia Lucille Marwood Nichols, age 94, of Tuscaloosa AL, formerly of Franklin, PA, died Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Forest Manor Nursing Home in Northport.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 8, 2014, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, with Neal McCarter officiating.

Burial will follow at Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.

Visitation will be Monday one hour prior to services.

Virginia was born in Franklin, Pennsylvania where she lived for twenty five years.

She married William Wayne Nichols in 1946 after his return from service in Europe in World War II. The couple moved to Akron, Ohio where Wayne was employed with the B.F. Goodrich Company. In 1957 Virginian and Wayne moved to Tuscaloosa with the opening of the B.F. Goodrich plant. They enjoyed almost 59 years together until Wayne’s death in 2005.

Virginia was an active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church for more than fifty years.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, James A. Marwood and Mary W. Pew Marwood; husband, Wayne; children, Sherry Ellen and Richard Arnold Nichols; and brother, Gail H. Marwood (Betty).

She is survived by her sister, Phyllis A. Krepp; nephews, D. James Krepp and David L. Krepp (Donna); niece, Dr. Susan Hilton; and nephew, Steven Marwood (Rita).

Honorary pallbearers are staff of Hospice of West Alabama, staff of Forest Manor Nursing Home and members of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
