Shirley-Bupp-1421420597Shirley Jean Bupp, age 78, was called home by her heavenly Father on January 16, 2015.

Shirley was born January 20, 1936 in Fertigs, PA to Frank and Dorothy Oakes Boocks.

She graduated from Cranberry High School in 1955, proceeded to Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City, NY and graduated in 1959. She went on to be a Youth director in West Smyrna, NY and worked in Galion, Ohio for a few years. She moved to Grand Rapids, MI in 1965 to work at Child Evangelism for a number of years and then went to Continental Baptist Missions. In 1966 she married Earl Bupp of Tidioute, PA.

She was an accomplished pianist and organist who loved music. She was a regular organist and pianist at various churches over the years. For two years she was the pianist for Byron Center High School and also entertained many shoppers at Christmas time playing for Rogers Department Store. She loved to teach Sunday School, and headed up many vacation bible schools over the years.

She will be remembered for the countless hours of beautiful music she provided, the entertaining of Missionaries, Pastors and friends with her fine cooking, and being a gifted seamstress.

She is one of 12 children to Frank and Dorothy Boocks of Fertigs, PA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Frank Boocks, Brothers; Howard Boocks and Larry Boocks, Sisters; Carol Keffer, Dorothy Rancatore, Kathleen Rowan, and grandson Michael Brander.

She is survived by her husband Earl Bupp, Daughters Valerie (Mike) Brander, Markelle (Ralph) Kissell, and son Eric (Sara) Bupp, brothers; Gary Boocks, Thomas (Darla) Boocks, Butch Boocks, Terry (Sue) Boocks, and sisters; Jean (Arthur) Rodgers and Elaine (Kenny) Stover. Her three grandchildren; Kaci Brander, Charlee Bass, and Naomi Bass and lots and lots of nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may meet the family from 3:00–5:00 pm on Sunday , January 18, at Northland Baptist Church 4162 Hunsberger Ave NE with the service to immediately follow.

Interment will be at Rosedale Memorial Park. Contributions can be given in Shirley’s name to the Christian Rest Home.
