OI345959923_Glade1Glade Bloom Sr., 75, of Venus PA passed away in his home on January 20, 2015.

Born August 25, 1939 in Coal Hill, PA he was a son of Oma P. and Irene Bickel Bloom.

He graduated from Victory Joint High School in 1957 and worked for the William Brown Coal Company. Following his tenure there he worked for the Oil City Sand & Gravel Company as a heavy equipment Operator. In 1964, he and his brother started Bloom Lumber Company and operated the private company until the early 1990s when he stared working with Salsgiver Lumber Company as a sawyer. On June 17th 1960, Glade married Judy A. Bonacker of Pearl in Clintonville and she survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Sherry Hunsberger of Oil City, Christine (Jim) Yeager of Cooperstown, Mary Price of Venus, Glade Jr. of Wiscasset, ME, Brenda Bloom, (Peter Rossi) of Havertown, PA, and Sue Bloom of Pittsburgh. He is also survived by his sister, Tina Bloom of Venus, his niece Tracy (Jeff) Morgan, a special cousin John (Carol) Shaffer, his mother-in–law, Minnie Avonell Bonacker of Franklin, grandson Kristofer Bloom, and special friends Glenn Holabaugh III of Seneca and Harold Rhoades of Oil City. He is also survived by 12 other grand-children and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Tim Bloom, a grandson James H Price Jr. and a great grandson Chase E Hoffman.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 2PM at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 144 South Main Street, Seneca, PA.
