William H. “Bill” McDonald

William H. “Bill” McDonald of the Wesbury United Methodist Community in Meadville and formerly of W 1st St. in Oil City, died at 9:10 A.M. Tuesday Jan. 20, 2015 at Wesbury , after a period of declining health.

Born August 8, 1926 in Franklin, PA., he was the son of the late James Philip McDonald & Lydia Lupton McDonald.

Bill was married to the former Catherine E. “Kit” Presz on Nov. 20, 1954 in Philadelphia and she preceded him in death on

June 27, 2011. They had resided in Philadelphia for many years, before living in Oil City.

Mr. McDonald was of the Presbyterian Faith.

He had been a faculty member at Overbrook School for the Blind for many years.

Bill and his wife Kit were accomplished musicians their whole lives.

He had been a member of the Kiwanis Club for over 65 years and was a member of the Golden Key Club.

Bill was a Past — Vice President of the Crawford County Barbershoppers and Yesterdays Sound.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters, Mildred Tripodi, Florence White, James McDonald, Genevieve Miller, Ruth Johnson, Edward McDonald, Richard McDonald, Jack McDonald and Barry McDonald.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Private Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.

The Reinsel Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
